![]() Whereas Sansa, some problematic content here and there in some of her chapters, seems to acknowledge that femininity should also be appreciated, and that one of the problems of Westerosi society is just how toxically masculine it is. ![]() I feel like part of Arya's popularity lies in the kind of "feminism" seemingly embraced by people like Dave & Dan: that girls/women can only be badass if they are tomboyish (ie, more like men), and feminine girls/women are just "weak". ![]() ![]() It's not a coincidence that whenever I re-read the books, I tend to just skip Arya's chapters but read all of Sansa's. Sure, Arya also gets some nice interactions with Beric, Thoros, Jaqen, Tywin (in the show) and Sandor (especially in the show) - but then she goes to Braavos and her chapters just become even more dull. It simply feels like Sansa gets to be involved in more interesting events, challenged in more ways to spur interesting character growth, and gets to play off of more interesting characters. Yeah, I also pretty much always found Sansa's chapters more interesting than Arya's, and especially in later years I've also found Sansa more interesting as a character.
